Fear
You will bring about the thing you fear.
Some opponents of Donald Trump feared he would be an authoritarian dictator, censoring free speech and free press and the like. But some let this fear hold them so tightly they became today’s most extreme censors, and developed tendencies to shut down opposing views with force.
Some supporters of white supremacy are so afraid of the gene pool being corrupted, thus barbaric behavior erupting amidst the “lower species” that they resort to barbaric murders in the name of cleansing the “barbaric genes”, becoming the very barbarians they fear.
This guy on quora was so afraid his classmate would become a violent bully, that he became a violent bully because he thought that was the only way to prevent the violence, which he became.
Aim for the rim, and you’ll hit the rim.
If you look at the guard rail you will hit the guard rail.
The Bible mentions that fearing God is wise. From the perspective of bringing about what you fear, then it is clear that fearing the omnipotent, all-wise will of a loving, just, and merciful creator just makes sense. If we will bring about what we fear, then it is only prudent to try to fear what would be best to bring about. God is by definition “the best that could be brought about”. (Jordan Peterson would say “Aim Upward”)
I don’t think I want to entertain the Fear>Anger>Hate hypothesis from Yoda (Lucas). I think we can just stop with fear. The reply on quora mentioned that Yoda in that scene is abusing Anakin. Ya know? maybe he is. but any fear Anakin has needs to be handled by Anakin. Whether Yoda is right or not, Anakin needs to deal with any fear and orient his fear properly, just like anyone else. It seems each of us must face our fears, and I think that involves setting fears by deciding what to focus on.
Maybe fear’s essence is a focusing attention. Can you ever say you feel fear if your attention isnt overcome? The scariest things are those which suck up ALL your attention. Which is probably why voluntarily facing your fears is an effective fear extinction therapy. Yoou literally practice expanding your attention BEYOND the object of fear. You start to think of what you will do to press the button in the elevator you were afraid of.
I “feared” whether I could reach the ledge. But when I started paying attention to whatg I would do once I Was on the roof, then I could actually move through the stage I was focused on.
We have nothing to fear but fear itself. This is too circular to be practical. But fear of god has potential to be useful. Just like the gift cycle. Just

But Do we need to protect free speech so we can have comedy and illustrate and satirize?
We should fear the positive spiraling of everything being better and better beyond or current imagination
The fear is the one and same as a command spoken by our tongues. The Lord’s Prayer takes the imperative mood
